About Me

I'm glad you're here! I'm a psychotherapist and editor in Seattle, WA.

Professionally, I "grew up" in book publishing. Stories have always been my heart's balm, and reading, my favorite leisure activity. This compulsion around books started young and has never left me. To this day, some of my favorite moments are when a book is so good that I can't put it down until dawn is breaking and birds are chirping.

This obsession with stories led me to over a decade's worth of traditional publishing and new/digital media experience, in the form of my roles as Editorial Director at Quiet Revolution and rights/licensing management at Random House and HarperCollins in New York.

My story obsession then took me to a new place — a deep and abiding interest in people's real stories. To that end, I earned my Master of Social Work at the University of Washington, and spent a year practicing as a psychotherapist in community mental health at Asian Counseling and Referral Service, before moving on to oncology social work at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. I have also founded a peer learning and consult group of South Asian-identifying therapists in the Seattle metropolitan area, the South Asian Behavioral Health Initiative
